Owner & Artist

Coming full circle, Annie has returned to what feeds her soul; art. Years ago she pursued a degree in art and got sidetracked by life. Family and career took her down other pathways, though art has always been a lifetime companion. A potter, spinner, knitter, weaver, and painter, Annie now devotes more of her creative time to illustrating nature. She has an M.A. in German, is a graduate of the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanical Art and Illustration where she taught part-time, is an active member of the Rocky Mountain Society of Botanical Artists and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. She is also a certified Zentangle® teacher (CZT) and has incorporated that practice into her daily life. Her artwork has been displayed in juried shows and published in books. In 2017 she was part of an 11-person exhibit by the Denver School of Botanical Art & Illustration that received a Group Gold Medal Award from the Royal Horticultural Society at their annual botanical art show for the exhibit "Rocky Mountains: Plants and Funghi with Altitude."
Annie retired from her day job at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Boulder, CO in December 2019 and has jumped in full time to develop her art business Botangle.net that includes teaching a variety of art classes.
Before joining NOAA, Annie lived and worked in Germany showing her artwork there in local galleries until she became a language teacher. She taught German at the University of Colorado in Boulder and English as a Second Language to small international company employees while living in Regensburg, Germany.
Annie feeds her love for nature’s details by hiking, horseback riding, bird watching, and rendering her beautiful surroundings. She shares that love for nature and art with her family and husband of 41 years.
Rolf Reiser - Photographer/Artist/Craftsman

As our resident photographer and businessman, Rolf is the glue that holds us together. His input on creative design, production, and business is imperative. Rolf was born in a small Bavarian village called Wolfratshausen. He has vast knowledge of running a small business, craftsmanship, and composition. He enjoys bird-watching, hiking, and taking beautiful photos at the Rocky Mountain National Park. Luckily, Rolf is a bit of a tool collector, which has helped getting Botangle.net off the ground.
Christie Reiser - Managing Director & Artist

Annie and Rolf's daughter, Christie, is the managing director and artist of Botangle.net. She was born in the breath-taking city of Estes Park. Her childhood was spent in Europe where she learned about her family roots and culture. She has a colorful background with experience in business, art, and science. Christie has B.A. degrees in Business and Geography and recently completed her Master’s in Science Writing at the Johns Hopkins University. Christie also has experience in leather-working, which she gained from an apprenticeship at a 300-year-old saddlery in Austria. She loves hand-crafting journals and earrings for Botangle.net and working closely with her family.
Christie just moved back to Colorado where she began a new career at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Boulder as a multibeam data manager.
