I am offering this video class originally recorded for the Zentangle teachers who attended the Rocky Mountain Zentangle Retreat 2021. It includes links to the two recordings from the live on-line class. You will see what the online participants saw (except for the "housekeeping" intros) with enhanced closeups and hear all of their questions and comments, including a lively discussion on Colorado wildlife and our favorite art supplies! You will also receive an 8-page handout with detailed instructions on "How To Draw Bugling Elk," a supplies list, a template, tangles list, and links to the two instructional videos.
As if set in a glittering amber jewel, this bugling elk is waiting for you to give it your your own personality. In this video lesson, you will:
Part 1- transfer your “string” or contour drawing using the provided template onto a 7.5x7.5 -inch 140-lb. hot press watercolor paper or comparable multi-media paper. After we “tangle” the image, one step at a time, (add the patterns) we will shade our inked drawing with graphite pencil and glaze it with water.
Part 2- use watercolor pencils to color over this “underpainting,” layering until we reach the rich saturation pictured here. Finally, we will “add some love” by cleaning up lines, adding highlights and some glitz with metallic gold paint. Please download the files provided upon purchase within 30 days, at which time the link will expire. Once downloaded, the videos will never expire. Note: This class was inspired by CZT Midori Furuhashi's Beetle Zia class I took.
PLEASE DO NOT REPRODUCE THIS PROJECT FOR SALE OR SHOW AS YOUR ORIGINAL ARTWORK. Thanks!
