I am offering this video class by popular demand. It includes links to the two recordings from the live on-line class. You will see exactly what the online participants saw (except for the "housekeeping" intros) and hear all of their questions and comments. You will also receive a 6-page handout with detailed instructions on "How To Draw Honey Bee Mine." NOTE: Video Part I is 8.06 GB and is 2:32 hrs. long. Video Part II 7.1 GB and is 2:15 hrs. long.
As if set in a glittering amber jewel, this honey bee is waiting for you to give it your your own personality. In this video lesson, you will:
Part 1- transfer your “string” or contour drawing using the provided template onto a 7.5x7.5 -inch 140-lb. hot press watercolor paper or comparable multi-media paper. After we “tangle” the image, one step at a time, (add the patterns) we will shade our inked drawing with graphite pencil and glaze it with water.
Part 2- use watercolor pencils to color over this “underpainting,” layering until we reach the rich saturation pictured here. Finally, we will “add some love” by cleaning up lines, adding highlights and some glitz with gold and pearlescent paints. Please download the files provided upon purchase within 30 days, at which time the link will expire. Once downloaded, the videos will never expire. Note: This class was inspired by CZT Midori Furuhashi's Beetle Zia class I took.
