This is the second in a series of Zentangle-inspired art I’ve designed, starting with “Honey Bee Mine.” “Under the Sea” features a tiny seahorse, drawn from a specimen that I found on an Italian beach. It is waiting for you to tangle and paint an inviting seahorse home. You will transfer your “string” or contour drawing using a provided template 140-lb. hot press watercolor paper or comparable multi-media paper before our first class.

In the first video, we will “tangle” the image, one step at a time, (add the patterns) and shade our inked drawing with graphite pencil. In video two, we will use watercolor pencils to glaze over this “underpainting,” layering until we reach the rich saturation pictured here. Finally, we will “add some love” by cleaning up lines and adding some glitz with copper and pearlescent paints. Please download your handout file and video links (within 30 days of course purchase). Note: This series was inspired by CZT Midori Furuhashi's Beetle Zia class I took.

PLEASE DO NOT REPRODUCE THIS PROJECT FOR SALE OR SHOW AS YOUR ORIGINAL ARTWORK. Thanks!
